Foundation, we believe that every child is a gift from God, created with purpose, unlimited potential, and the ability to succeed. Our mission is to provide high-quality academic and behavioral support for students in Kindergarten through Fourth Grade, equipping them with the skills, confidence, and encouragement they need to experience success throughout their elementary school years and beyond. We also recognize that academic achievement is only one part of a child's development. Lasting success comes when the whole child is nurtured. For that reason, we partner with parents and caregivers to help children grow academically, socially, emotionally, spiritually, mentally, and physically. We believe strong families and caring communities create strong children.
Our desire is to provide a safe, positive, and faith-centered environment where children discover the joy of learning, develop positive character, strengthen their self-confidence, and understand that they are deeply loved by God. Through academic enrichment, mentoring, encouragement, and biblical principles, we seek to inspire children to become compassionate leaders, responsible citizens, and lifelong learners. Dr. Yvonne Watson is a seasoned higher education professional and visionary leader with a devout servant leadership lifestyle and an acute sense of civility, respect, and engagement in the workplace. She has experience leading, designing, developing, and implementing educational programs for adults and children in higher education, non-profits, and faith-based entities. Dr. Watson holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, a Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, and a Doctorate in Education Leadership. She is the dedicated and passionate founder and C.E.O. of the For My W.I.S.H. Foundation (F.M.W.F.) (dba Tutoring Tenacity), which specializes in kindergarten readiness and academic support to students in grades K-4 who are considered academically at-risk in math, reading, and writing. With an impressive background in education and a profound commitment to student success, Dr. Watson has become a trusted advocate for young learners in her community.
Dr. Yvonne Watson focuses on educational interventions for struggling learners. Her extensive academic training and research have equipped her with valuable insights into the challenges faced by young students and the strategies needed to help them thrive academically. Driven by a deep-rooted belief in the transformative power of education, Dr. Watson embarked on her professional journey to positively impact students' lives. Early in her career, she took an interest in tutoring students struggling academically and behaviorally and witnessed firsthand the critical role of early intervention in shaping a child's educational trajectory. Recognizing the pressing need for targeted support and personalized instruction for at-risk students, she established the For My W.I.S.H. (well-being, interests, safety, and happiness) Foundation.
Under Dr. Watson's visionary leadership, the tutoring center has flourished into a renowned institution known for its expertise in preparing students for kindergarten and assisting those who face academic challenges in math, reading, and writing. The center's success lies in its evidence-based instructional approaches, tailored curriculum, and nurturing environment that fosters confidence and growth. Dr. Watson's Center has helped countless students overcome their academic hurdles. The center's individualized approach allows for personalized learning plans, focusing on each student's unique needs, strengths, and learning styles. By combining innovative teaching methods, interactive activities, and ongoing assessments, the center ensures that students not only catch up but also develop a love for learning.
